Welfare and Safeguarding

Safeguarding is the actions taken to protect people's physical and mental health, their wellbeing, and their human rights. It applies to everyone, and everyone has a role to play in ensuring that the most vulnerable people are protected from harm.

Children, young people, and vulnerable adults may require more safeguarding support and consideration. This includes adults who may receive help from care teams, and those who have a mental health condition, learning disability, or physical disability.

Ely Sailing Club aims to support the welfare of all its members and participants in club activities, and to keep everyone safe, on and off the water. Our Club Welfare Officer is the main contact for further information or to report an incident or safeguarding concern.

Ely Sailing Club's policy and procedures for safeguarding are informed by guidance and advice from the RYA. Details are available in the document available to download.
