Sweet Dreams are Made of Cheese: Cheese & Wine Night at ESC
Published 19:41 on 3 Oct 2024
This might sound so cheesy, but our cheese and wine night really was grate. We caerphilly selected a variety of cheese and wines so that everyone could have a gouda night. When we saw the cheese hedgehogs, we knew it really would brie a grape evening...
It was lovely to see a good turnout for our September Social of a cheese & wine night at the club with lots of eating, drinking and being merry. The night began with naming our retro cheese hedgehogs so that everyone could mee Horris, Sonic and Mrs Tiggywinkle. After that, it was time to tuck in to the wide variety of cheeses including a wide variety of soft and hard cheeses, perfectly paired with 22 different red, white and rose wines (or a wide selection of Shloer flavours for the non-drinkers).
The evening was a great opportunity to catch up with new and not-so new members and to get to know one another off the water. It is amazing how much fun a group of people of all kinds can have over some cheese and wine.
The cadets and some overgrown cadets had great fun playing darts, console games and board games and we all had a lovely time socialising. Fun and laughter carried on well into the late evening before all went home with a sleepy smile on their faces.
Don't panic if you missed last Saturday; keep an eye out for our upcoming social events. Bar Nights are every odd Friday throughout the autumn and winter and in November we are planning a Bonfire Night (9th November) and also the main event... the Laying Up Supper (16th November). Keep your eyes open for more information on these sailing in to your inboxes.
Suggestions for social events are always very welcome via email or to the suggestions box in the club or just grab one of the committee when you are around the club - their faces are on the board by the door!
